Job Purpose

To supervise and monitor the daily, periodically services provided by cleaning and pest control companies. Work closely with the teams to ensure a high degree of standards.

Main accountabilities & expectations

Job Responsibilities Includes but not limited to the following;

  • Manage the day to day on-site operation which includes cleaning, pest control and housekeeping
  • Manage the University guest houses, as per the University standard
  • Supervise the workforce, ensuring that service providers deliver their specific services within the agreed time and standards 
  • Ensuring that delivery is of the highest quality with a significant emphasis on service excellence 
  • To respond in a prompt and efficient manner to all reactive issues and call center requests. 
  • Ensure that service providers continuously and effectively deliver the University's needs to the agreed specified Service Level Agreements 
  • Ensure that the standards of compliance, health & Safety and hygiene are to the University standards at all times
  •  Compile daily inspection checklist to monitor standard of work and completion to the schedule.
  • Administration and clerical responsibilities as required by job.
  • Report to Facilities Engineer on work progress and issues on a daily basis.

 

 

  • Participate in Emergency and First Aid activities
  • Report near misses, incidents and initiate/participate in incident investigations
  • Participate in HSE and cross-functional meetings as required
  • In-charge of all cleaning activities of Cleaning Division
  • Conduct daily morning briefing and distribution of work assignment for the day
  • Preparation of monthly and weekly activity report
  • Check and maintain the stock of cleaning materials and oversee monthly stock inventory
  • Supervise and monitor the cleaning activities including subcontractors for waste management, pest control, hygiene etc.
  • Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards
  • Instruct staff in work policies and procedures, and the use and maintenance of cleaning equipment's
  • Ensure BICSc standard is flowed by all staff.
  • Plan and prepare employee weekly/monthly work schedules
  • Check cleaning equipment's on regular basis to ensure that they are in working order
  • Confer with staff in order to resolve performance and personnel problems
  • Recommend updates to improve service and increase operational efficiency
  • Arrange and oversee additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist other team members in different work disciplines as required in order to meet completion of all assigned works.

Proven experience within soft services, particularly cleaning - BICS qualifications advantageous
