Job Purpose

A radiologist is required to contribute to the teaching duties of both the Department of Medical Diagnostic Imaging and the College of Health Sciences. Courses to be taught include Introductory Courses in Anatomy and Biology along with their Labs; Pathophysiology; Human Anatomy and Physiology; Introduction to Radiology; Radiologic Anatomy; Radiologic Pathology and Image Interpretation; in addition to Ultrasonography and Cross-Sectional Imaging. The candidate should hold an M.Sc. degree preferably with specialization in Ultrasonography. The candidate is expected to supervise students in the Labs and escort them to hospitals in clinical practice duties.

Main accountabilities & expectations
  • Teaching and supervising students in the laboratory of various courses including radiographic anatomy, pathology and image interpretation, and ultrasonography.
  • Conduct tutorials and practical sessions for students in sectional anatomy, and introduction to radiology.
  • Prepare laboratory manual for sonography, and radiographic anatomy.
  • Carry out basic sonography and radiographic anatomy experiments.
  • Refine and design sonography clinical experiments.
  • Supervise students in Lab-based and community-based activities.
  • Engage in department, college, university, and community service activities.
  • Promote department's community services activities.
  • Work on expanding and promoting our PACS lab potential and activities
  • Asses and enroll in clinical practice courses.  
  • Assess students' clinical practice files.

Preferred Qualification & Experience
  • The candidate should have a M.Sc. or equivalence degree in Radiology.
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) with Radiology or equivalent specialty is preferable.
  • Academic and clinical experience in various courses in the field of radiography including radiological anatomy, sonography, and medical image interpretation.
  • Teaching clinical practice courses in the field of radiologic and/or diagnostic imaging technology and modalities.
  • Experience in credit hour system.
  • Fluency in English at the general and professional levels is essential.

Job Location University of Sharjah (Main)

The candidate is expected to have:  

  • Clinical and practical experience in sonography, radiological anatomy, and medical image interpretation is required.
  • Experienced in practical teaching of undergraduate radiographic technologists, and medical students.
