Job Purpose

  • The Maintenance Management Officer is a Hybrid Technical position which will mainly handle the vital role of Central Labs "Computer Aided Facility Management" software operations and all its Database management.
  • Also the Maintenance Management Officer is responsible to coordinate, follow up of all Central lab's maintenance unit operations, contracts and documentation tracking.
  • Act as a technical back up support for all the store operations.
Main accountabilities & expectations


  1. Main responsibility of Maintenance Management Officer to Support Central lab maintenance Team with the help of CAFM administrative tools and Data base to Track, Manage, Report and Plan the Central lab Instruments and Utility maintenance  records.
  2. Coordinate with CLD Engineers and Technicians for their daily maintenance request schedules and maintenance contract renewals by regularly checking the data base for instrument availability, location, service history for reducing duplicate service requests and new orders.
  3. Support the Maintenance Engineers in new asset creations, Maintenance contract's payment process and other critical documentation related to CAFM System and routine activities.
  4. Communicate, liaise and co-ordinate with Maintenance team and other Departments teams to ensure maintenance activities and needs are met.
  5. Responsible to update and amending CL database for in-house maintenance activities and Annual Maintenance Contract, also making application changes to improve database performance and monitoring its efficiency/reliability.
  6.  Ensure that agreed work by CL staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and closely monitoring the progress till the successful completion and updating in the CL CAFM Database.
  7. Responsible to improve the performance of database process, and owning this process from end-to-end: from creating new process, isolating problematic queries and developing solution.
  8. Weekly and monthly reporting of in house maintenance works and progress of Annual Maintenance Contracts.
  9. Accountable for an accurate & updated data base and Responsible for physical inventory to gather of all laboratory equipment data and to be adopted /archived in the Central Laboratories equipment maintenance  CAFM system.
  10. Supports on Training of new employees on CAFM System Application and Operation.
  11. Occasionally support store in charge to update the Central Laboratory store inventory; control of fixed assets and consumables. Manage and lead implementation of material handling systems that enable capacity and operational improvements.
  12. Providing expertise to maintenance team for data base handling and for changes during planning through to reviews, help maintenance team deliver optimal database requirement and queries.
  13. Comply with the University's Occupational Health & Safety policy and standards.

Preferred Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor degree (preferably in Engineering , Engineering Management, Management Information Systems)
  • One year Experience in Laboratory or Similar Technical background
  • (Identification and Inspection Management)
  • Knowledge of CAFM System Concept Evolution will be an added advantage.
