Job Purpose

The purpose of this job is to enhance the position of UoS and reposition it in the international and national education market by using advanced digital marketing techniques.

Main accountabilities & expectations


  • The Digital Marketing officer will be responsible for managing paid search campaigns and paid digital media (including paid social, video, display and re-targeting efforts),
  • Optimization of those digital media activities and reporting on performance.
  • Design digital media campaigns according to business goals
  • Coordinate and manage the creation of all digital content such as website, blogs, press releases and podcasts, infographics, videos etc. 
  • Promote the university presence  in  our web locally and internationally.
  • Work to improve and implement our brand presence
  • Liaise with the Marketing and Brand Management Unit Team Leader, Undergraduate Admissions and The Graduate Departments to align digital marketing campaigns with the enrollment plan for both undergraduate and graduate admissions.
  • Liaise with other entities in the university that require digital marketing campaigns.
  • Suggest and implement direct marketing methods 
  • Regularly track and get insights into competitors' strategies
  • Develop and monitor ROI and KPIs
  • Stay up to date with digital media technologies and latest trends

Operational Plans

1.       Participate in developing the department's operational and business plans and contribute in the execution of same in line with the department's strategy in order to support the achievement of the department's strategic objectives.

2.       Provide input to enhance the department's policy and procedures, and follow all relevant processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.


Systems, Processes and Reports

Generate relevant reports and ensure that they are prepared timely and accurately and meet the department's requirements and standards.

Required Skills
  • Experience in Social media platforms.
  • Good knowledge of Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Audacity or other media editing software
  • 2years of experience with visual communication methods 
  • Knowledge of web design
  • Experience with content management
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company's success
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualification & Experience

  • BSc degree in Marketing, Digital media or relevant field
  • Additional qualification in web design or animation is a plus
  • 2 years of experience as Digital media Specialist or similar role
