Job Purpose
|
The Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering (RISE) is seeking to hire a post-doc in cyber security. Selected candidate(s) will collaborate with the members of research groups (within the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Dept. of Computer Science) on research in cyber security projects related to distributed systems, cloud computing networks, blockchain security, privacy, trust, and scalability. Duties will include performing literature surveys, algorithm design, implementation and testing, writing progress reports and research articles to be publishable in a highly prestigious indexed journals and conference proceedings.

Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Software implementation and running simulation experiments.
- Testing and evaluating designs/systems/algorithms/protocols.
- Analyzing and interpreting results.
- Performing literature surveys in the focus areas of the Cloud Computing and Blockchain Security.
- Defining research problems, and solution methodologies.
- Algorithm designs.
- Writing research articles for journals and conferences.
- Collaborate with research group members on research projects.
- Participate in writing research proposals.
- Assume responsibility of the maintenance and smooth running of the research group's technical (hardware and software) equipment.
- Follow all University policies regulations for safe working procedures

Desirable Requirements
|
- Minimum Ph.D. degree in the area of Computer Engineering/Computer Science.
- Solid programming skills.
- Knowledge in distributed computing and systems.
- Knowledge in operating systems.
- Knowledge in communications, networks, and analytical/mathematical modeling.
- Knowledge in one or more of the areas of: security/privacy, communication networks, and/or cloud computing.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English language.
- Strong publication record relevant to one or more of the aforementioned research areas.
