Job Purpose
|
Teaching of pharmacology courses and
participation in the supervision of master students
|
Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Participation in didactic, computational, and laboratory teaching activities covering pharmacology, and related courses within the UoS- College of Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Health Sciences curriculum as determined by the Department Chair for current undergraduate students and postgraduate students that will enrol in Master /PhD programs
- Perform and grade all types of exams, perform exam analysis and write assessment reports.
- Provide mentorship and advisement for students in the College of Pharmacy.
- Supervision of post-graduate students
- Communicate teaching and research activities through frequent and effective communication with the Department Chair.
- Conduct research in the field of pharmacology and engage in team-based research in the area of pharmacology.
- Procure and/or maintain an externally funded research projects in pharmacology or areas related to the discipline.
- Publish scientific findings in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and present research at national and international meetings.
- Be involved in curriculum development and quality assurance activities related to the department and the college.
- Actively participate in committees within the department, college, University and in professional and governmental organizations.
- Carry out any other tasks related to the Course/ Department/College/University assigned to him/her by the head of department or the dean of the college.

- Have a commitment to excellence in teaching and training of pharmacotherapeutic sciences for undergraduate and graduate students.

Preferred Qualification & Experience
|
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
- PhD in Pharmacology- Research interest & publication record in Neuropharmacology line is a must.
- Demonstrated track record of presentations and peer-reviewed journal publications in neuropharmacology line.
