Job Purpose

Teaching, Research and Community Service

Main accountabilities & expectations

We seek a candidate with a basic degree in Geology or Earth Sciences, and has a broad teaching and research experience in Petroleum Geology, Reservoir Characterization, Well Logging, Basin Analysis, Seismic Stratigraphy Structural Geology, Petrophysics. The successful candidate should combine independence; ambition and team work in the front line of teaching and research fields with a strong focus on innovation in both academic and applied research, in close collaboration with international academic and institutional partners.

The candidate is expected to:

·       Teach undergraduate and graduate students in Petroleum Geology, Structure Geology, Petrophysics, Seismology, Petroleum and well logging related software and technologies and their application to earth systems and problems.

·       Contribute to the development of new courses/programs.

·       Supervise Master-students, PhD students and Postdoctoral fellows.

·       Conduct scientific research that serve the community and contribute to current trends.

Develop ambitious interdisciplinary research projects.

Job Specific Accountabilities --
Required Skills

·       Industrial experience is a plus.

·       Experience in leading and conducting scientific multidisciplinary research projects.

·       Experience in Petroleum Geology.

·        Demonstrate understanding of operational requirements for a successful research project.

-       Experience and knowledge in relevant software and instrumentation.


Preferred Qualification & Experience

·       PhD in Geology or Earth Science, that specialized in Petroleum Geology or related subjects.

·       Evidence of commitment to excellence in teaching.

Competencies

·       Teaching experience in both traditional and alternative (e.g., online) learning environments.

·       Publication record in high impact journals.

Experience in undergraduate, graduate students supervision.
