Job Purpose

  • Support the students' laboratory and clinical training under the guidance of the faculty members.
  • Acts as a liaison between the clinical coordinator and clinical placement sites.
  • To collaborate with the course clinical coordinator in any issues related to training
  • Follow up the laboratory's equipment maintenance and materials if needed.
  • Possess good communication skills.
  • Able to work within a team and under pressure.

Main accountabilities & expectations

  • Supervise students in clinical sites and community placements.
  • Coordinate with the course instructor, site preceptors and students.
  • Prepare students' clinical placement and other documents as needed.  
  • To monitor with the faculty members students' practice in the skills labs (demonstrations on procedures and the use of equipment) and training sites.
  • To develop and revise assessment tools based on objectives of the clinical courses
  • To ensure that students receive required instructions and/or supervision by the clinical site preceptors during the training hours at the clinical site.
  • To conduct tutorial sessions to clinical students whenever needed.
  • To assist in conducting and evaluating students. and exams
  • Prepare laboratory sessions.
  • Assist in the instruction of lab procedures.
  • To collaborate with lab supervisors in issues related to lab preparation.
  • Use of instruments and preparation of reagents if needed.
  • To act as an effective member of the committees as required and carry out assigned duties.

Preferred Qualification & Experience

  • B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Sciences or related field from a reputable university.
  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience in major hospitals or in a university setting
  • Holder eligibility license for Ministry of Health (MOH), Dubai Health Authority (DHA) or Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD).
  • RTA driving license ID desirable. 

Job Location University of Sharjah (Main)

  • Experience in the field of Medical Laboratory Sciences is desirable.
  • Technically confident about handling laboratories and technical procedures in medical lab sciences.
  • Previous academic experience is desirable.
  • Able to work under pressure and for extended hours if needed.
  • Possess leadership and management skills.
  • Good reading/ writing and speaking English.
  • Good speaking Arabic.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good IT skills.
