Job Purpose

The Medical tutor will be responsible for organizing, preparing and conducting training courses and workshops in epidemiology and biostatistics unit.

Main accountabilities & expectations
  1. Organize, prepare and assist in training courses related to specific clinical and public health topics at professional and community based levels. 
  2. To assist in conducting specific scientific activities in the field of epidemiology of national importance
  3. Assist in development of specialized materials and tools necessary to appropriately train individuals involved in the conduct of clinical research including research methods and statistical analysis. 
  4. Coordinate and assist with research and  statistical consultations offered by the unit
  5. Participate in other activities as assigned by the chair or VCMC.
  6. Complete any other job-related tasks as assigned by line manager within the expected time limit.

Job Specific Accountabilities
  • Previous experience in conducting clinical research
  • Expertise in statistical data analysis and data management.
  • Proficient with statistical software such as SPSS/SAS.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and also preferably Arabic.
  • Excellent organizational, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work pro-actively and independently
  • Highly competent in organizing and prioritizing workloads
  • Demonstrated experience in practical and small group teaching
Required Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in business in both Arabic and English.
  • Proficiency in MS office applications.

Preferred Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor degree Medicine & Surgery (MBBS) or public health, epidemiology, biostatistics or a health related field.
  • At least three years of experience in clinical, health or educational setting
