Job Purpose
|
Clinical tutor is employed to:
- Support the students' laboratory and clinical training under the guidance of the faculty member teaching the course.
- Maintain the laboratories in working condition.
- Ensure that the laboratories including all equipment are fully functional.

Main accountabilities & expectations
|

To assist in teaching and evaluation of students' clinical skills (clinical/ lab) performance under the supervision of the course instructor/ coordinator in a variety of clinical facilities including hospitals, clinics and community placements during the week, evenings and weekends.

To conduct tutorial sessions to students in clinics and labs under close supervision of the course instructor/ coordinator.

To prepare labs in terms of equipment and materials if needed, before, during and at the end of the lab session and also towards the end of each semester.

To assist the faculty and other staff members in issues related to exams such as participation in clinical competency exams, setting up labs for exams, invigilation and supervision of students, as required.

To attend departmental and committee meetings as required.

To monitor student professional behavior, attendance and conduct and provide feedback to the faculty in charge.

To perform other duties -including administrative work- as deemed necessary by the department Chair/ CHS Dean.

Prepare a list of needed Lab equipment and supplies , request and receive the ordered list of equipment and supplies.

Preferred Qualification & Experience
|
These will vary according to the requirements set by each department. However:
- BSc with 3 years of experience in the appropriate field
Additional selection criteria to consider:
- Minimum CGPA 2.5
- UOS graduate preferable
- Recent UAE clinical experience (at least 3years)
- UAE nursing license
- Valid UAE driving license preferred.
