The University of Sharjah is announcing a vacancy for the position of
Vice Chancellor for the Medical Colleges and College of Health
Sciences.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Realizing the mission of the University and its aims within the said
authorities of the Vice Chancellor with an express interest in and commitment to
the educational process, teaching, research, and community service in the
Colleges of Medicine.
- Enhancing the academic experience of students through developing the
colleges’ curricula and study plans to be of high international standards and
consistent with the pace of development in the local, regional, and
international communities.
- The
position of Vice Chancellor for the Medical Colleges and College of Health
Sciences is considered a senior academic leadership position in the University.
The Vice Chancellor is responsible for the Medical Colleges and centers that
fall under his/her authority. The VC is a main member of the University’s Higher
Administration, which consists of the Chancellor of the University, the Vice
Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Vice Chancellor for Financial and
Administrative Affairs, the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, and the Vice
Chancellor for Public Relations.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

PhD from a highly reputable university, preferably
medically qualified
ACADEMIC RANK:
-
Rank of Professor from a highly renowned
university.
EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate will possess university experience in medicine and
comprehensive administrative experience as a former university vice chancellor
or college dean overseeing a number of departments and various medical
specializations. S/he should also demonstrate advanced work capability,
excellent communication skills and proficiency in Arabic and English.
