Job Purpose
|
Assistant or Associate Professor of Biochemistry at
the Basic Medical Sciences Department, College of Medicine to teach Biochemistry
for medical students
within an integrated, Problem based curriculum and perform research at the
University Medical Research Center.

Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Teach theoretical and practical biochemistry component for different organ-systems modules in
innovative medical curriculum. - Conduct high quality research work in her/his field of interest.
- Be able to secure research grants from internal and external funding agencies.
- Maintain scholarship and professional development within area of expertise.
- Actively participate in relevant professional activities in order to improve teaching and subject matter competence.
- Undergo training to qualify as a facilitator in the problem-based learning program.
- Advise undergraduate students.
- Active participation in departmental assignments, university committees, and student activities.
- Serve in faculty committees as appointed or elected.
- Participate in other activities as assigned by the Department Chair or College Dean.

Required Skills

Desirable Requirements
|
PhD (or equivalent) in medical
biochemistry and a first degree in medical related sciences (preferably MBBS or
MD).
