Job Purpose
|
To support the implementation of the University of Sharjah's registration policies and procedures by monitoring the process and ensuring its compliance with the University's goals and bylaws to ensure a smooth process.
|
Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Support the implementation of University's registration procedures for semester based programs by monitoring the process and ensuring its compliance with the University goals to ensure a smooth process.
- Perform registration functions by ensuring course availability, declaration of major, change of major, drop-add of courses and withdrawal to ensure students' lists are continually update.
- Assist in maintaining the class schedule and ensure that academic schedules are uploaded and updated on the registration system accurately on a semester basis.
- Respond proactively to students by providing them with varied information and reports concerning their academic status. As well as communicate with students via text messages, e-mails and answering telephone calls to convey requirements in a timely manner.
- Assist in verifying students' final grades, CGPA calculations and academic standings, as well as handle grade changes and release final grades to students.
- Coordinate with the Study Planning and Scheduling section to ensure the availability of required courses/sections for freshmen, sophomore, senior, and expected to graduate students, and upload the final course schedules on the registration system each semester/academic year.
- Prepare and review lists of students under academic probation and who are subject to expulsion, and process their decisions in accordance to UoS's by-laws.
- Review and verify the list of "expected to graduate" students ensuring they have completed their graduation requirements. As well as process graduation decisions and dates for each student.
- Maintain constant communication with students in order to keep them updated regarding any new requirements, changes in the bylaws, or any other documents related to their academic status.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of any student information/data, as well as prepare student lists, reports, and statistics when requested by line manager.

Required Skills
|
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.
- Excellent working knowledge of personal computer applications with an emphasis on MS office applications.
- Knowledge of Banner and/or Blackboard Systems is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.

- Ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks and produce reports under strict guidelines.

Desirable Requirements
|
- Minimum of bachelor's degree in Business Administration, MIS, IT or a relevant discipline.
- 2-4 years of UAE experience in similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
Priority is to UAE Nationals.
