Job Purpose

To perform a variety of student service duties such as welcoming students and their parents, guiding and directing them to the concerned offices, helping in organizing admission and payment of tuition fees processes, and respond to general inquiries about specializations and admission requirements at the University of Sharjah.

Main accountabilities & expectations
  1. Act as a first-hand contact for students, parents and visitors by being available at all times at the reception, in order to respond to their inquiries and direct them to the appropriate office/s.
  2. Handle incoming phone calls and transfer them to the concerned employee, as well as respond to admission related emails to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  3. Ensure that the University's admission procedures are implemented at all times, as well as interpret them to students and visitors.
  4. Guide and assist students using E-Services forms such as withdrawal requests, graduates clearance forms, etc. As well as communicate with applicants during the admission process to inform them about their status and which procedures they need to complete.
  5. Maintain and operate the "Queue System" and ensure that it is used correctly and effectively.
  6. Provide comprehensive level of assistance to other Admission employees during high seasons to ensure smooth and efficient operations in the department.
  7. Provide advice to new and potential students regarding the university's colleges and programs, as well as assist them in their inquiries related to these programs.
  8. Assist in preparing and managing various databases and tracking methods related to the Admission Department's reports in order to retrieve them when requested quickly and efficiently. As well as assist in filling and archiving various student and department's documents.
  9. Keep up-to-date with all admission requirements and processes, as well as current and new specializations offered by the different colleges at UoS.
  10. Participate in education exhibitions inside and outside the UAE to ensure the University is appropriately represented.
  11. Participate in coordinating the department's committees, events, exhibitions, meetings and ceremonies as well as documenting and publishing them to ensure it represents the University's positive image.

Preferred Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum of Diploma in Office Management or a relevant discipline.
  • 2-4 years of UAE experience in similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
  • Priority is to UAE Nationals.
