The Research Institute of Sciences & Engineering (RISE) is recruiting a qualified individual for a postdoctoral appointment in radio astronomy. The position is based in the Radio Astronomy Research Group in RISE. The research group is supported by the Radio Astronomy Laboratory, which has a broad research portfolio and is located in the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST). Key research topics focus on investigating AGN, GRS (Giant Radio Sources), Sun's observations, Jupiter observation, and Hydrogen line observation. The SAASST Radio Astronomy Laboratory operates two main systems: (1) A Decametric Radio Array that works at 20 MHz, and (2) a 40-m Radio Interferometer that works at 1.4 GHz. For more information about SAASST, please check the following link: www.saasst.ae.
We are looking for an individual to join the radio research group as a postdoctoral researcher. Technical mastery of radio interferometry techniques is a must, as well as a good publication record. A candidate with complementary skills to our research portfolio is especially encouraged to apply. The appointee will be expected to help build a 1-km radio interferometer and collaborate closely with other researchers.
