​The University of Sharjah is seeking an experienced university scholar with a strong record of research, academic and administrative experience to serve as Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies (VCRGS). The appointee serves as the primary advocate for research excellence in partnership with an outstanding faculty fully committed to scholarship. The VCRGS is a senior academic and research position at the University of Sharjah with the main responsibility of leading the new research and graduate studies structure to improve the research production and quality, to enhance the quality of graduate education and elevate the university research outcome to international level. It is anticipated that the VCRGS will begin duties on February 1st , 2015.

The successful candidate must have earned the academic rank of full professor at a renowned academic institution and will present distinguished research, teaching and professional credentials as evidence of superior skills and broad experience preferably at the level of university provost, vice president or dean of a major college. Since Arabic and English are the languages of instruction at the University of Sharjah, the ability to work and communicate in both languages is considered essential in the evaluation of the applicants for the position of VCRGS.
