Job Purpose
|
The Department of Accounting, College of Business Administration at the
University of Sharjah, invites applicants for full-time permanent faculty
positions at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor ranks, starting Fall
2022. Outstanding candidates from all research areas of Accounting will be
considered, they must have a Ph.D. in Accounting from an internationally
recognized/accredited University, with preference to Western Universities.
Candidates must have excellent Accounting research profiles as evidenced by
Scopus indexed research with a minimum of three years full-time academic
teaching experience in higher education. Also significant scholarly service
activities, graduate teaching and dissertation supervision is a plus. The
successful candidate will be expected to teach effectively in all areas of
Accounting, contribute by teaching at the undergraduate program, master's (MBA,
EMBA) and DBA programs, and undertake high quality research activities. Also,
the successful candidate will be expected to supervise graduate and
undergraduate students’ projects and dissertations, engage in other educational
scholarly and professional activities, liaise with industry, academic programs
accreditation.

Main accountabilities & expectations
|
Teach courses in all areas of Accounting at the undergraduate and
graduate levels. Lead active high quality research and supervise graduate and
undergraduate student projects/dissertations. Contribute to program
development, engage in community service, including serving the profession.
Contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs accreditation.

Desirable Requirements
|
Minimum qualification must be a Ph.D. in Accounting, with undergraduate
and graduate education record combining course work and research from a
reputable and accredited University, with preference to Western Universities
and minimum of three years full-time academic teaching experience in higher
education.
