​Responsible for performing operational and technical tasks to provide comprehensive care for a variety of laboratory animal species, including feeding/watering, sanitizing primary and secondary enclosures, environmental enrichment, handling and restraint and related tasks.

-        Perform routine animal husbandry and welfare duties as directed

-        Restraint and handling various animal species (Mice, Rats, and Rabbits)

-        Supply appropriate food and water for animals housed in the vivarium

-        Clean and provide animal housing and associated materials/equipment within assigned animal rooms

-        Observe and report status of animal health, food and water consumption, appearance, behavior; provide support in animal health monitoring and basic veterinary medical treatment as prescribed

-        Disposes of animal carcasses following established procedures

-        Observe and record vivarium environmental conditions

-        Support cage-wash equipment operations and maintenance

-        Follows Standard Operating Procedures necessary to maintain animal housing areas, including personnel protective equipment use

-        Provide the support for the research groups

-        Strictly follow sterile procedures to maintain the isolator and/or room barrier

-        Establish and maintain appropriate and quality communication, teamwork, collaboration, and cooperation

-       Other duties may include housekeeping/janitorial, inventory management, receiving goods, stocking supplies and other work in support of a vivarium

​The candidate must have a Bachelor or master degree in Biology / Chemistry / Veterinary)

1. Minimum of three years related experience in a laboratory animal facility
2. Good experience handling various lab animal species (Mice, Rats, and Rabbits)
3. Knowledge of animal husbandry requirements, methods, and techniques
4. Basic computer knowledge
5. Able to speak and write fluent English
