Job Purpose

To create and develop internal and external marketing strategies through multi-media communication in order to promote the activities, achievements, and maximize brand promotion for the University of Sharjah.

Main accountabilities & expectations
  1. Plan and develop strategic marketing and branding initiatives, with the cooperation of the related executives, directors and staff at UOS, through gathering information internally and externally to understand and implement the best marketing strategies.
  2. Analyze market trends and recommend changes to marketing and business development strategies based on gathered data and feedback to strengthen the university's position in the market.
  3. Help attract and secure sponsors for various conferences, events and activities, and maintain long-term agreements with sponsors.
  4. Organize various marketing activities and events to help raise UoS's brand awareness in the community.
  5. Oversee the creation and delivery of press releases, advertisements, and other marketing materials by revising them and ensuring they reflect the University's image.
  6. Plan and coordinate the preparation of various publications such as catalogues, seasonal and special brochures, flyers, posters, and gift items.
  7. Respond to requests from the media, external organizations and government agencies for information on the academic, research and student-based activities of the University in order to provide required information and maintain interest.
  8. Participate in various educational and marketing events to represent the positive image of the University through preparing marketing releases and brochures, and raise UoS's brand awareness in the community.
  9. Maintain strong relations with external organizations, as well as develop and maintain professional contacts and associations with the local community, influencers and external organizations in order to attract audiences, sponsors, and participants to contribute in various events.
  10. Develop electronic communications and marketing campaigns for the University in order to utilize and maximize communication channels to reach a wider audience.
  11. Assist in budget preparations for the department by reviewing previous marketing expenditures and forecasting future costs.
  12. Prepare various reports, analysis and statistics when requested by the line manager.

Required Skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing techniques and principles.
  • High sense of creativity.
  • Good understanding of how to manage all media/social media channels.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks and produce reports under strict guidelines.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance.
  • Flexibility and ability to function effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS office applications.


Preferred Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Marketing or a relevant discipline.
  • 6-8 years of UAE experience in similar role in a related field preferably in higher education institutions.
  • Priority is to UAE Nationals.
