Job Purpose
|
The University of Sharjah seeks to hire an English Language Lecturer to start in August 2023. The position requires a PhD holder in Applied Linguistics or a related area of specialty. The candidate must demonstrate an ability to teach language skills courses, such as English for Humanities, English for Medical Purposes, and Basic English.
The position is open for males and females of all nationalities.

Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Teaching 15 credit hours of college and university requirements per semester (Language Skills and ESP courses)
- Contributing to the university core curriculum,
- Contributing to various committees at the department, college, and university levels,
- Contributing to the research profile of the department & college through innovative and interdisciplinary research publications,
- Being an active member in the department, college, and university communities and other responsibilities as assigned by the department head/college.

Desirable Requirements
|
- PhD in Applied Linguistics or TESOL from a recognized and an accredited university by the UAE Ministry of Education.
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience after obtaining the PhD.
- Evidence of teaching experience.
- Evidence of relevant research published if available.
