Job Purpose

Conduct teaching and research in Art History, Theory & Criticism, Curatorial Studies, or Studio Art – Instruction is in English.

The College of Fine Arts and Design seeks a qualified candidate to teach full time HTC courses or Printmaking studios beginning September 2023.

Main accountabilities & expectations
  • Ability to teach undergraduate Introduction to Art History, Research Methodology, and contribute to advanced Art and Design History, Theory and Criticism courses, and/or printmaking studios.
  • Strong research and publication or art scholarship.
  • Contribution to Fundamentals of Design and Drawing studios.
  • Academically advise undergraduate students.
  • Engage in Program/Department and College assignments, activities, and events.
  • Participate in relevant professional activities to improve teaching and subject matter competence.
  • Serve on faculty committees as appointed or elected.
  • Lead efforts toward community engagement) and other activities as assigned by the Department Chair or College Dean.
Job Specific Accountabilities

Required Skills

Applicants holding PhD/MFA degree with established record of academic performance and scholarly activities. Preference given to candidates demonstrating:

  • Effective teaching skills and professional experience.
  • Solid experience in teaching and learning media & technology.

  • Ability to teach art and design survey courses or printmaking studios.
  • Good record in research and/or artistic scholarly activities.
  • At least 5 years full time teaching experience in higher education institutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (in English).
  • Strong interpersonal skills towards effective professor-student interactions, both one-on-one (student interaction) and in group (classroom) sessions.
  • Sincere interest in assisting each student within a diverse and multi-cultural community to maximize their academic, spiritual and personal potential.
  • Team player that is motivated to strengthen and advance the department.
