Job Purpose

·         The Sharjah Institute for Medical Research (SIMR) is currently recruiting a research assistant in the BMI Research Group.

-        The ideal candidate should hold a degree in medical imaging/ radiography field. S/he should have radiography clinical/teaching/research experience in different imaging modalities.

Main accountabilities & expectations
  1. Perform research projects tasks assigned to him/her by the group members.
  2. The candidate will work closely with group members to perform basic research in radiography and computed tomography clinical applications.
  3. Able to apply diagnostic imaging techniques for X-ray and Computed tomography machine.
  4. Have experience with radiation measurement, phantoms and image processing equipment
  5. Perform data analysis and presentation in seminars and conferences.
  6. Train undergrad and postgrad students in the lab.

Preferred Qualification & Experience

B.Sc. in radiography. 

Job Location University of Sharjah (Main)

  • An in-depth knowledge of image production techniques, image analysis, radiation measurement. 
  • Performing imaging experiments and recording data according to research protocols.
  • Interpreting data and assisting in judging validity of data, such as dose, image quality and considering patient's parameters.
  • Performing statistical and graphical analysis of data. This includes study set ups and set up of data bases for imaging lab and preparation, cleaning and analyzing imaging data.
  • Strong computing and analytical skills to work with large datasets, including imaging data.
  • Previous experience in medical imaging, and PACS, while image analysis is ideal.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable him/her to smoothly interact with staff and faculty at the institute.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Previous experience with radiography/diagnostic imaging research related to imaging technique, and dose measurements.
