Job Purpose

​

A postdoc position is available at the Research institute of Sciences & Engineering (RISE) in the general area of environmental resources conservation and protection, specifically environmental microbial surveillance, risk assessment and genomics.  The postdoc will join a group of researchers involved in studies related to water/wastewater quality, treatment, and reuse;  environmental monitoring and genomics, and reservoirs of antimicrobial resistance.  Special interest include risk assessment of emerging pollutants and application of bioinformatics pipelines in elucidation of microbial community dynamics.  The candidate is expected to lead projects and work with existing researchers on ongoing projects.

Main accountabilities & expectations
  1. ​Conduct research and prepare scientific publications.
  2. Assist in supervising RAs and graduate students' work.
  3. Assist in preparing research grant applications.

Desirable Requirements

The applicant should possess a doctorate in Environm ental Microbiology or related disciplines.
