Job Purpose
|
To be responsible for providing professional audio and video services which will include operating digital/video cameras, lighting, and sound recording tools, in order to provide high-quality image and video footage of official activities and events at the University of Sharjah, as well as archive these media productions in order to use them for various marketing and branding activities.

Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Assist the line manager in creating, developing and implementing the Marketing and Digital Communications' procedures by monitoring the process and ensuring its compliance with the Marketing and Student Recruitment Department and UOS goals and strategic objectives.
- Review and understand all relevant policies and procedures in order to be able to carry out daily work tasks as expected, and answer all stakeholder inquiries, clarifications, or any assistance related to Multimedia Unit accurately and efficiently.
- Handle the process of recording audio/video content of the university's related events such as conferences, student events, sports activities, cultural activities and social activities, on campus or in remote locations.
- Use various lighting techniques and editing software to enhance and compose digital photographs and video footage in order to produce clear high quality results. As well as ensure creative framing and capturing action while shooting through both video camera and DSLR.
- Edit and develop video projects, short documentary films and promotional videos as requested by the line manager and other clients by combining recorded video files, audio commentary and background music until the final product is completed.
- Employ the best cross media graphics and design techniques, representations, and standards. As well as ensure that the proper credit, copyright, captions, and any legal or contractual usage policies are implemented at all times when using external or readymade media material.
- Responsible for operating a variety of cameras, equipment, lighting, audio recording tools and other related accessories in order to cover important internal or external news and events related to the university.
- Ensure that technical equipment, software and accessories are in excellent working condition. Provide the proper care for sensitive equipment such as camera body, lenses, lighting and filters and handle all maintenance and warranty issues when required.
- Provide the necessary assistance and support to the line manager and other team members in ensuring the department/college KPIs are achieved successfully by gathering the necessary data, preparing progress reports and implementing the necessary action plans.
- Train, coach, and provide technical/practical expertise to new employees in any related Marketing and Digital Communication processes to ensure they acknowledge and understand their responsibilities and tasks.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal and external colleagues in order to complete work tasks, answer questions or provide assistance.
- Follow all relevant processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions accurately to ensure that job tasks are carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. As well as assist new employees in understanding the Multimedia Unit's operating procedures.
- Keep up-to-date with multimedia developments and advancements in the market in order to improve the university's presence, and implement any required administrative, technical or functional enhancements. As well as proactively seek out opportunities to build capability and identify where developing know-how can drive improved business outcomes.
- Assist in preparing various reports, analyses and statistics related to the Multimedia Unit when requested.

Required Skills

- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.
- Advanced knowledge of photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Light Room, Capture One, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, etc.

Desirable Requirements
|
- Minimum of bachelor's in Multimedia, Graphic Design, or any related discipline.
- 4-6 years of UAE experience in a similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
- Priority is to UAE Nationals.
