Research Institute for Medical and Health Sciences (RIMHS) is currently recruiting a postdoctoral fellow in the "Infectious Diseases and Anti-infective Therapy" research group.

The ideal candidate should have a PhD in a field of biomedical science with good experience by training in microbiology (bacteria and fungi), host-microbe interaction, molecular biology, general biology, cell culture, and biochemistry and cellular metabolism. Working experience with in vivo experiments is needed. The candidate should have experience with molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qRT-PCR, Sanger Sequencing, Western blot, ELISA, and other colorimetric/ fluorescent assays, as well as different microscopy techniques. The candidate should be experienced with running biochemical assays such as cell cytotoxicity, cell migration, enzymes kinetics analysis. Experience in DNA and RNA library construction including transcriptome/ genome analyses and protein expression and purification is desirable

• Design and develop research projects.
• Conduct experiments in all fields related to microbiology and molecular biology.
• Data collection, analysis, and interpretation including epidemiology study.
• Conduct animal studies.
• Use, maintain and troubleshooting of different instruments.
• Get the necessary training to use new equipment needed for his/her work.
• Organize and present his/her data to the group members on regular basis.
• Manage the day to day running of the research group laboratory.
• Manage the ordering, stock taking and budget for the research group.
• Perform research projects assigned to him/her by group's members.
  
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
• Writing reports, publications, and initiate grant proposal writings.
• Assist in administrative tasks, preparation of applications, reports and presentations related to the research group.
• Prepare samples and reagents; calibrate instruments; and perform quality control checks; system checks; and document and maintain organized records.
  
• Contribute to research activities at RIMHS.

• Extensive experience in microbiology, molecular biology such as PCR and Sanger sequencing, tissue culture, and microbial culture techniques, and ELISA assays.
• Good experience in statistics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable him/her to smoothly interact with staff and faculty at the institute.
• Ability to work as part of a team

​Edcudactional background in microbiology, molecular biology, biomedical research, or a related field with good publication records. 2-3 years of research experience after Ph.D. is highly desirable .
