The Research Institute of Medical and Health Sciences (RIMHS) is seeking to hire a postdoctoral research associate to work within the Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics research group which is a multidisciplinary research group consisting of members with expertise in cellular biology, molecular pathology, genetics and genomics, mathematics, computer science and bioinformatics. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, hard-working and well-organized to support the projects from the various members of the Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics research group. The ideal candidate should hold a PhD in biological or life sciences with proven expertise in cellular biology, protein biochemistry and molecular pathology. He/she should have proven experience in the following:
1) Cell culture working with primary and immortal cell lines and ability to generate stable transgenic cell lines
2) Cellular and molecular biology with experience in applying PCR, qRT-PCR, cloning genes into various vectors including expression vectors and cellular localization
3) Protein biochemistry including Western blotting, Flow cytometry, co-immunoprecipitation and EMSA
4) Molecular pathology including DNA/RNA extraction from FFPE archival tissue and NGS library construction using Fluidigm system
5) Functional genomics techniques including single, double and triple transient transfection and familiarly in running reporter assays such as Dual Glo and Titre Glo assays
6) Running Next Generation Sequencing for Genomics, Transcriptomics, Metagenomics and Epigenetics studies
He/she should be a good team player and have experience in basic data analysis from the various techniques listed above.
The Post Doc should be multi-tasking and can demonstrate the ability to work with multiple techniques. Hands on experience evidenced by educational background and publications in leading journals is necessary.
