Job Purpose
|
The College of Communication at the University of Sharjah invites applications for the position of assistant/ associate professor in public relations that begins in Fall 2024. The successful candidate is expected to teach various courses in areas related to public relations, digital media content production, media management, social media campaigns design or a relevant field, In addition to general college requirements in media and communication. The successful candidate should have an established record of research in high-quality journals and is expected to develop a research agenda that is competitive for external funding. The college of communication is ACEJMC accredited and offers professionally focused undergraduate programs in mass communication and public relations.

Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Teach specialized and general courses in the department of public relations using innovative methods and approaches.
- Have a track record in research publication in Scopus indexed journals.
- Contribute to the department's academic and extracurricular activities.
- Contribute to effective student advising and supervision of graduation projects.

Required Skills
|
- Have a Ph.D. in public relations or a relevant field from a top university.
- Teaching experience not less than 3 years.
- Evidence of successful teaching, teaching effectiveness and services.
- A record of professional integrity, collegiality, and commitment to diversity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative engagement within the department and university, and building connections with area professionals, businesses and alumni.
