Job Purpose
|
The Department of
Mass Communication at the College of Communication, University of Sharjah, UAE,
invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor in
Digital/ New Media. We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and accomplished
scholar with a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service. The
successful candidate will join our vibrant and diverse department, contributing
to the academic and professional growth of our students. The appointment will be starting from the
Academic year 2024-2025. |

Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Be an active researcher with a proven record of high-quality publications in Scopus-indexed Journals, focusing on Digital Media applications and design.
- Be capable of teaching courses in Digital/ New Media, including Social media, AI Design applications, using innovative and creative teaching methods.
- Make significant contributions to the department's academic activities and community services.
- Efficiently handle advising tasks.
- Be preferably bilingual (Arabic and English).

Required Skills
|
- A Ph.D. in Digital Media/ communication or a related field from a reputable university.
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
- Evidence of successful teaching, advising, and service effectiveness.
- A record of professional integrity, collegiality, and a commitment to diversity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative engagement within the department and university, as well as building connections with national/international professionals, businesses, and alumni.
