Job Purpose

​The Clinical Sciences Department at the University of Sharjah College of Medicine is committed to expanding its Immunology Program, with a particular emphasis on cancer immunology, and is seeking candidates at the Assistant, Associate or Full-Professor level. 

We are particularly interested in candidates whose research on cancer immunology includes, but is not limited to, cancer micro-environment, cancer genetics, cancer immune evasion, cancer gene therapy/stem cell therapy. 

The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an energetic, well-funded research program; engage in interdisciplinary and collaborative research as well as teaching undergraduate and graduate students.​

Main accountabilities & expectations
  • ​The candidate will devote his time for teaching and for conducting research in the College of Medicine.
  • Manage projects and serve as an expert cancer immunology.
  • Maintain an independent and internationally competitive research program.
  • Supervise postdocs, graduate students and technical personnel in research projects in cancer immunology.
  • Apply for external funding - both national and international.
  • Actively participate in academic, industry and health care collaborations.
  • Teach courses in his/her field of expertise to both undergraduate and graduate students​.
Required Skills
  • The candidate must pre​sent track record of excellence in teaching undergraduate medical students, as well as graduate students in molecular medicine.
  • Must also complement and collaborate with research groups with broad expertise in basic and translational research. 
  • Priority will be given to candidates with a strong record of peer-reviewed publications in cancer immunology.
  • Research experience and interest in colorectal and lung cancer is preferred.
  • The successful applicant must possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere and effectively liaise among scientists, research centers, and funding agencies.
  • The successful applicant​ should have a successful postdoctoral training experience with an excellent record of research activities, and strong potential for obtaining competitive external grants to support their research.
