Job Purpose
|
Manage the design and development of a portfolio of complex face-to-face, online and/or blended courses for a plethora programs and courses offered across the colleges; Collaborate closely with faculty members and other institute's staff to articulate the goals, assessments, activity paths, learning objects and content for each new course/program; identify the pedagogical best practices and supporting educational technologies needed to effectively execute course mission; Coordinate the end-to-end development of courses during each design cycle; Collaborate with senior leadership across the university in curricular innovation, program development and the design of blended courses, including face-to-face and online components.

Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Work and consult with faculty and staff to adapt existing courses and programs for online delivery and other forms of e-learning.
- Design and develop online instructional materials that support academic courses and programs
- Work with Faculty and university leaderships to define programmatic course design, including course goals and sequences.
- Collaborate with media and webinar support specialists to troubleshoot technical problems and brainstorm creative solutions for the delivery of live sessions.
- Maintain existing instructional technologies to serve educational and administrative communities across the university.
- Participate in faculty development initiatives designed to improve faculty preparedness in course design, delivery, and assessment.
- Meet regularly with program leadership and support staff to diagnose the course design and redevelopment needs relative to a program's growth and trajectory.
- Research and disseminate best practices contributing to innovations in teaching and learning with technology.

Required Skills
|
- Knowledge of adult learning theory, including instructional design, learning styles, distance learning theories and practices, etc.
- Familiarity with modern teaching and learning technologies.
- Experience working with faculty and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong creative and process thinking abilities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders who often hold competing interests.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with stakeholders on a cross-functional team and deliver results under prescribed deadlines.
- Ability to define and manage his/her own work processes towards specified team objectives.
- Ability to define and manage own work towards specified team objectives
- Experience using a learning management system (e.g. Blackboard) to design and deliver curriculum.
- Ability to evaluate content to determine its appropriateness for target audiences.

Desirable Requirements
|
MSc. in a field such as Education, Educational Technology, and Information Technology with at least five (5) years professional working experience in a higher education setting.
