Job Purpose
  1. ​Teaching: Teach students about pharmaceutics cosmetics, microbiology, and chemistry principles and practices. This includes preparing and delivering lectures, conducting laboratory sessions, and assessing student learning through examinations and other assignments.
  2. Curriculum development: Developing and updating the pharmaceutics cosmetics, microbiology, and chemistry curriculum, including selecting appropriate textbooks and other resources and incorporating current research and developments in the field.
  3. Advising: Provide academic advising to students, including guidance on course selection, career paths, and research opportunities.
  4. Professional development: The lecturer is expected to maintain their knowledge and expertise in the field by attending conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with other faculty members and researchers in the field of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, both within the university and in the broader scientific community.
  6. Service: Serve on committees and participate in other service activities within the university and in the community, such as providing educational outreach and engaging with industry and government stakeholders.


Main accountabilities & expectations

  1. Delivering lectures and seminars on the principles and practices of pharmaceutics cosmetics, microbiology, and chemistry to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  2. Developing and delivering laboratory sessions to students may involve preparing laboratory manuals, organizing lab equipment and materials, and supervising students during experiments.
  3. Designing and delivering assessments, including exams, assignments, and group projects, to evaluate student learning and progress.
  4. Providing students individual and group academic support, including answering questions, providing feedback, and offering guidance on course materials and assignments.
  5. Participating in developing and maintaining course materials, including textbooks, lecture notes, and online resources.
  6. Participating in departmental and university-wide committees, working groups, professional associations, and organizations.
  7. Engaging in outreach activities, such as presenting at conferences, participating in community events, and providing media commentary on pharmaceutical sciences issues.​

  1. Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences principles and practices, including pharmaceutics, cosmetics, microbiology, and chemistry.
  2. Excellent teaching skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner and to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles.
  3. Effective oral and written communication skills, including communicating research findings to diverse audiences.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills, including working collaboratively with colleagues, students, and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualification & Experience

  1. Master's in pharmaceutical sciences (pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical technology tracks) is a MUST, demonstrating a higher specialization level and research expertise.
  2. Previous experience teaching pharmaceutics cosmetics, microbiology, and chemistry courses at the undergraduate or graduate level, either as a lecturer, teaching assistant, or tutor.
  3. Research experience in pharmaceutics cosmetics, microbiology, and chemistry or a related field, including a publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  4. Experience with laboratory techniques and equipment commonly used in pharmaceutics cosmetics, microbiology, and chemistry research, such as tabletting, dissolution, cell cultures, and analytical quantification methods.
  5. Experience with online learning platforms and technologies, including learning management systems and virtual laboratories.
  6. Excellent communication skills (Arabic and English speaking and writing).
