Job Purpose
|
as a admission officer you are expected to review and process new and enrolled students’ applications, and identify those eligible to be part of the University of Sharjah, as well as support the induction process once admitted in order to ensure compliance with the University’s admission process.
|
Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Ensure that the necessary physical and electronic files are created for each for enrolled student, as well as verify all received documents making sure that all required documents and/or attestations are available.
- Enter, update and review the personal and academic information in the banner system for New and enrolled students. In addition to ensuring the accuracy of data before graduation and maintaining the confidentiality of data and documents.
- Assist potential students, applicants, parents, and visitors by answering questions or providing information regarding the admission requirements via telephone calls, emails and in-person.
- Participate in the inventory process of applications after the end of each admission period, and complete any related sorting, entries, or other related requirements.
- Train and supervise “Admission Friends” trainees in the admission process to ensure there is clarity about their responsibilities and tasks.
- Participate in education exhibitions inside and outside the UAE to ensure the University is appropriately represented. As well as contribute in department’s committees, events, meetings and ceremonies, ensuring these events are documented and published and that it represents the University’s positive image.
- Follow the Admission department’s regulations and procedures at all times, and implement the department’s strategic plan to achieve the overall goals.

Required Skills
|
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.
- Excellent working knowledge of personal computer applications with an emphasis on MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Knowledge of related Student Information Systems such as Banner would add an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively during peak periods.
- Good time management skills.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in processing applications.
- Accurate data entry and ability to manage and analyze data.

Desirable Requirements
|
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, MIS or a relevant discipline.
- 2-4 years of UAE experience in a similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
- Priority is to UAE Nationals.
