The Department of Computer Engineering (CE) in the College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) at the University of Sharjah (UOS) invites applications from highly qualified candidates for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor position(s) in Computer Engineering commencing in January 2026. 

Priority will be given to expertise in one or more the following specialties: (1) Robotics, (2) Computer Architecture, and (3) Artificial Intelligence.

Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UOS. 

1. Teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.
2. Supervising postgraduate students' research projects and theses (Masters/PhD).
3. Contributing to the development of courses and programs (both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels) offered by the Department of Computer Engineering and accreditation especially ABET Accreditation and CAA of UAE.
4. Performing all assigned administrative tasks by the program/department, college, and university.
5. Contributing to the research activities and initiate research projects leading to effective publications in journals with high ranking and patents.
6. Mentoring and advising of students at all levels.
7. ​Mentoring and advising junior faculty (if/when applicable). ​

• Ph.D. in Computer Engineering or in a closely related field (From a reputable and internationally recognized University). Priority is given to expertise in one or more the following specialties: 1) Robotics, 2) Computer Architecture, 3) Artificial Intelligence.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or in a closely related field of Engineering (From a reputable and internationally recognized University).
• At least 6 year of teaching experience at the University level. Exceptional fresh PhD graduates with strong potential will also be considered for the Assistant Professor position.​
  
• Demonstrated experience of effective teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• A strong record of accomplishment of research publications in refereed, highly indexed scholarly journals.
• Experience in supervising Master and PhD students is highly desirable.
• Interest and experience in bridging links with industry and the community is also expected. ​
