1. Assist students in handling and operating lab equipment during and after classes, as well as in building prototypes for course projects or senior design projects.
2. Ensure that all electrical outlets and connections are functioning properly, and report any issues and maintenance requests to the concerned person/department.
3. Monitor lab facilities, making sure that the equipment, machines and connections are in good working condition. As well as initiate and follow up any trouble-shooting or maintenance requests with the concerned person/department.
4. Prepare the lab beforehand for lectures, demonstrations, workshops, etc. as well as support faculty members in developing new experiments and student projects to support student development.
5. Follow up on new lab equipment requests with the concerned departments and prepare technical evaluation reports for new equipment quotations in collaboration with other faculty or staff members.
6. Maintain and update laboratory inventory by ordering laboratory equipment and consumables as per required specifications.
7. Ensure and reinforce follow through of safety standards and protocols in the laboratory, and implement safety training for both faculty and students.
