Job Purpose
|
The Department
of Nursing at University of Sharjah is seeking dynamic and experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) to join our faculty as Clinical Assistant / Associate Professors.
We are particularly interested in candidates who specialize in one or more of the following areas:
1. Mental Health Nursing
2. Family and Community Nursing
3. Critical Care Nursing
4. Maternal and Neonatal Nursing
Successful candidates will contribute to the teaching, direct clinical supervision, and scholarly activities within our Master of Advanced Nursing Practice program and other academic offerings. They will be expected to support the development of advanced clinical skills in our students while maintaining an active practice in their specialty.

Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Teaching & Instruction: Deliver clinically focused lectures, labs, and workshops; develop curriculum and course materials in advanced nursing practice.
- Clinical Supervision: Oversee and mentor graduate and undergraduate nursing students in clinical settings; ensure alignment with best practice standards.
- Scholarly Activity: Conduct, participate in, or supervise clinically relevant research and scholarship projects; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance the nursing profession.
- Program Development & Accreditation: Contribute to the ongoing development, accreditation, and evaluation of nursing programs, including the Master of Advanced Nursing Practice.
- Student Advising: Provide academic and career guidance to students, fostering professional growth and leadership in advanced clinical practice.

Required Skills
|

Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Strong competencies in teaching and clinical supervision within a competency-based curriculum, along with research skills, are essential.

Experience in teaching community health courses is advantageous.

Additionally, expertise in program development, accreditation processes, online teaching, and simulation-based education is highly valued.

A proven track record of securing external research grants is desirable, and candidates should possess a solid research profile.

Doctoral Degree in Nursing (PhD, DNS, or DNP) from an accredited institution.

Active Advanced Practice Nursing License in one of the following specialties:
- Mental Health Nursing
- Family and Community Nursing
- Critical Care Nursing
- Maternal and Neonatal Nursing

Clinical Experience: A proven track record of independent clinical practice in the designated specialty area.
