Job Purpose
|
To design, develop, implement, and support AI-driven applications and intelligent systems that enhance academic and administrative processes at the University, with a focus on the Smart Integrated Academic Management System (SIAMS) and enterprise platforms. |
|
Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Assist the line manager in creating, developing, and implementing section procedures by monitoring processes and ensuring alignment with the Digital Technologies Department and University strategic objectives, with a focus on AI-driven digital transformation.
- Design and develop all relevant policies and procedures to ensure daily tasks are carried out accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with university standards.
- Analyze user requirements and application requests, aligning them with system functionality and AI capabilities, and recommend innovative and data-driven solutions.
- Integrate AI solutions within the university's full-stack ecosystem (ERP, SIS, LMS), working closely with developers and infrastructure teams for seamless deployment.
- Conduct rigorous testing, validation, and evaluation of AI models to ensure accuracy, fairness, reliability, and performance.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for AI models, algorithms, workflows, and best practices.
- Train, coach, and support academic and administrative staff in effectively using AI tools for advising, evaluation, and academic management.
- Ensure adherence to ethical AI standards, data governance policies, and regulatory compliance in all AI development and deployment activities.
- Participate actively in AI and digital transformation projects, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Keep-up-to-date with new developments and advancements in the market in order to suggest suitable solutions and advancements at the university and serve users better.

Required Skills
|
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional and technical documentation in both Arabic and English.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, operate, and support enterprise systems, AI-powered applications, and related software/hardware environments.
- Ability to interpret system logs, error messages, and AI model outputs, and explain technical issues and solutions to users in clear, simple, and non-technical language.
- Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence concepts, including Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Generative AI.
- Familiarity with data analysis, data pipelines, and system integration concepts within enterprise environments (ERP, SIS, LMS).
- Understanding of AI ethics, data privacy, and governance principles, especially in handling sensitive academic and student data.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, including developers, data scientists, and functional users.
- Works as a competent and proactive team member, providing backup support to colleagues and actively contributing to team and organizational goals.
- Demonstrates adaptability and continuous learning mindset to keep up with emerging technologies, particularly in AI and digital transformation.

Desirable Requirements
|
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or any related discipline.
- 3-6 years of UAE experience in similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
- Priority is to UAE Nationals.
