Job Purpose
|
The Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering (RISE) is seeking to hire a post-doctoral researcher. The researcher will work within the Nuclear Energy System Simulation and Safety (NE3S) Research Group and will assist its members with related research projects on Uncertainty Quantification/Sensitivity Analysis (UQ/SA) for severe accident analysis.

Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Investigate novel UQ/SA and model calibration for severe accident modeling and simulation.
- Construct computer models to perform severe accident analyses and source term assessments.
- Train research assistants/graduate students.
- Publish research results and present them in conferences and meetings.

Required Skills
|
- Knowledge of coding in C, C++, PYTHON and/or FORTRAN.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Effective interpersonal skills to work effectively within a scientifically diverse team
- Ability to publish and present research results in English.

Desirable Requirements
|
-
Eduacational background nuclear
engineering or in related fields.
- Track record of publications in peer-reviewed international journals related to uncertainty quantification/sensitivity analysis.
- Proficiency/experience with uncertainty quantification codes.
- Have a solid background on severe accident phenomena.
- Proficiency/experience with safety analysis codes for example RELAP, TRACE, and MELCOR, etc.
