Job Purpose
|
The Department of Sociology at the CAHSS, University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, seeks applications for full-time faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, with appointments beginning in the Fall semester of the 2026–2027 academic year.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in Applied Sociology. Responsibilities include contributing to curriculum development and engaging in scholarly research and publication.

Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Deliver lectures and seminars in Applied Sociology at undergraduate level.
- Supervise student research Projects of undergraduate level.
- Develop and update course materials and curricula.
- Conduct and publish academic research in the field of specialization.
- Participate in departmental activities and contribute to academic planning.
- Support university and community initiatives.
- Assist in accreditation processes and fulfill academic quality requirements.

Required Skills
|

PhD in Applied Sociology from a recognized and reputable university.

Minimum of 4 years of university-level teaching experience.

Proven ability to develop and deliver academic courses.

Proficiency in both English and Arabic for teaching and publication.

Strong academic publication record.

Proficiency in digital tools and platforms (e.g., ICDL certification).
