Job Purpose
|
As a Postdoctoral Research Associate in cancer biology, you are expected to to plan and execute quality research work related to the main theme “Cancer Research”. Expertise in Molecular biology techniques such as drug screening, DNA damage induction and repair, Western blot, immune-fluorescence, cell cycle and apoptosis measurement, proteins knock-down/out, License and expertise in small animal models, animal handling and related work is a must.

Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Design and execute research projects within the theme of the CEC.
- To conduct experiments involving molecular biology techniques, NGS, library construction, and data generation.
- To prepare project proposals, present results at meetings, and publish results in scientific manuscripts
- To improve experimental design and perform basic pathway and network analysis using graph-theoretic approaches
- Assist in data analysis and design of future projects, writing up of proposals and/or publications.
- Outreach for collaboration/partnership with community organizations both at the national and international levels, in a way that would serve the overall center objectives.

Required Skills
|
- Experience in human cell line manipulation for generation of knock out, knock down clones, SiRNA transfection, cloning, drug screening techniques, and related work. The applicant should have comprehensive molecular expertise particularly with protein, RNA, microRNA techniques and real time quantitative PCR. Experience in Flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and handling, experimentations using small animal models.
- Excellent record of publications in cancer biology/immune-oncology and computational genomics (whole genome sequencing, proteomics, metagenomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, LCM based analysis, ...etc)
- Experience with animal handling and establishing animal models.

Desirable Requirements
|
- Educational background in biology or related fields.
- Two years Postdoctoral training in a well established international institute.
