Job Purpose
|
As a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering (RISE), you will be part of the Information and Network Security Research Group (INSRG), contributing to cutting-edge research projects in the field of Cybersecurity. You are expected to hold a PhD degree from a reputable university and demonstrate a strong academic background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields, with a focus on Cybersecurity. You will actively participate in advanced research areas such as GPS jamming and spoofing attacks in flying ad hoc networks, AI-driven malware detection, end-to-end encryption for mobile edge networks, and data hiding in English and Arabic languages. In addition, you are encouraged to contribute to emerging topics like AI-based image source identification, cryptographic processors for IoT devices, deep neural networks for copyright protection, and AI-based tools for intrusion detection. Your role will be vital in driving innovation and excellence as part of a team dedicated to shaping the future of the Cybersecurity field.

Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Assist in conducting cutting-edge research in the general field of Cybersecurity, with a focus on areas such as information security, network security, cloud security, hardware security, steganography, and digital forensics.
- Lead and conduct independent research, focusing on interdisciplinary projects that leverage advanced machine learning and AI tools to address complex Cybersecurity problems.
Design, develop, test, and optimize software tools and applications that support the assessment and implementation of innovative cybersecurity methods and systems.
Develop and run simulation programs to evaluate algorithms and frameworks relevant to the INSRG’s research focus areas.
Support the execution of experiments aimed at testing new ideas and algorithms in the field of Cybersecurity.
Prepare technical reports and academic papers on topics related to ongoing and completed research.
Accurately document all research activities and findings, including publishing high-impact papers in reputable, peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.
Assist in exploring and identifying emerging technologies, tools, and research trends through academic literature and online resources.

Required Skills
|

Strong programming and software engineering skills, with proficiency in languages such as C++, Python, Java, and scripting languages, as well as familiarity with simulation tools such as NS2 and NS3.

Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Fluency in the English language, both written and spoken.
