The appointee should be able to support the Department of History and Islamic Civilization to capitalise on the significant progress it has made so far and contribute to the academic life of the University of Sharjah, nationally and internationally. The appointee(s) should be able to enrich the Department's research agenda, expand its teaching programs, and undertake graduate supervision.Applications are sought from eminent candidates who can enhance the Department's research, education, and societal impact within the field of Arab modern and Contemporary History.
Research and teaching in the Department are methodologically and theoretically diverse, and we expect candidates to be able and willing to engage in intellectual exchanges across a range of Arab history topics within the discipline.
