​The Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering (RISE) has an opening for a full-time Post-Doctoral Research Fellow position in Sustainable Architecture and Resilient Design, working with the Sustainable Architecture and Resilient Design Research Group (SARD-RG). The Research Fellow should be able to work in an interdisciplinary field of Sustainable Architecture and Resilient Design, including digital architecture and technology, environmental design, sustainable materials, and building design and construction from heritage to modern​

1. The post holder will conduct independent and collaborative research in more than one of the following priority research areas: Architectural design and planning, Urban design, Building design and performance and Heritage/Islamic architecture
2. Lead the writing and submission of research funding proposals
3. Develop ideas for generating research outputs for publication in high quality research journals
4. Participation in research activities including presenting papers at conferences and workshops
5. Contribute ideas for new research projects
6. Participate in wider research group activities, where appropriate​

1. Strong research skills with an understanding of sustainability in the built environment.
2. Demonstrated self-motivation, critical thinking, and enthusiasm for academic research
3. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to collect, evaluate, and synthesize data
4. Excellent numerical modelling skills, with demonstrated applications in sustainable and resilience of the built environment ​

1. Outstanding knowledge in sustainable Architecture and the built environment
2. Expert in using simulation software like IES-VE, Env-MET, DesignBuilder, SPSS, ETAB, MATLAB, etc.
3. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively​
4. Previous experience of contributing to publications (evidenced through current list of research publications)​
5. educatonal background in Architectural Engineering/Civil Engineering or related fields in the Built Environment​
