Job Purpose

The Department of Computer Science (CE) in the College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) at the University of Sharjah (UOS) invites applications from highly qualified candidates for a full-time Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position(s) in Computer Science with expertise in Quantum Computing & Artificial Intelligence commencing in Fall 2026. ​
Main accountabilities & expectations

  1. Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.
  2. Contribute to the research activities and initiate research projects leading to effective publications in journals with high ranking and patents.
  3. Supervise postgraduate students' research projects and theses (Masters/PhD).
  4. Contribute to the development of courses and programs (both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels) offered by the College of Computing and Informatics) and accreditation, especially ABET Accreditation and CAA of UAE.
  5. Perform all assigned administrative tasks by the program/department, college and university.
  6. Mentor and advise students at all levels.​

Required Skills

Successful candidates are expected to possess the following:

  1. ​Have a Ph.D. in the areas specified above or in closely related fields (From a reputable and internationally recognized University).
  2. Have demonstrated effective teaching experience in the above-mentioned fields or related ones at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  3. Have a strong record of accomplishment of research publications in refereed scholarly international journals with good impact factors.
  4. Experience in supervising Senior Design Projects, Master and PhD Theses/Dissertations.
  5. Interest and experience in bridging links with industry and the community are also expected.
