Job Purpose
|
Responsible for media coverage of events inside and outside the University of Sharjah operating video cameras and DSLRs to capture scientific, academic, social, and cultural events and used in various media, marketing and branding activities.
|
|
Main accountabilities & expectations
|
Operate professional media equipment (video cameras, DSLR cameras, audio systems, studio lighting, microphones) to capture high-quality photographs and video footage.
Set up and assemble equipment in studios and on location, ensuring proper framing and action capture during shoots.
Collaborate with stakeholders such as graphic designers, editors, and social media creators to meet project specifications and concept requirements.
Record and cover official university events, including conferences, student activities, sports, cultural, and social events.
Edit and enhance audio, video, and photographic content using professional post-production software.
Apply advanced lighting techniques and photo manipulation to achieve desired visual results.
Review and select the best photographs and visual content suitable for the subject or purpose.
Maintain and manage technical equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and filters, and handle maintenance, warranties, and proper storage of media assets.

Required Skills
|
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.
- Excellent working knowledge of personal computer applications with an emphasis on MS office applications such as Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Advanced knowledge of editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe light room, Capture One, etc.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks, and produce reports under strict guidelines.
- High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance.
- Detailed knowledge of photography art and lighting.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong creative presence and artistic flair.
- Customer focus with a desire to over deliver on quality.
- Ability to stand and move around for long periods at a time.
- Flexibility and ability to function effectively as part of a team.

Desirable Requirements
|
- Minimum of bachelor’s in Photography, Fine Arts, Mass Communication, or any related discipline.
- Portfolio of previous work related to the job requirements is a must.
- 2-4 years of UAE experience in similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
- Priority is to UAE Nationals.
