Full Stack UX Designer

Job Purpose

As a Full Stack UX Designer, you are responsible for:

  • Own the translation of business requirements into user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, front-end interfaces, and implemented digital experiences.
  • Develop and maintain responsive front-end components and integrate them with back-end services, APIs, authentication, workflows, and enterprise systems.
  • Support the full delivery lifecycle from discovery and design through development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live improvement.
  • Ensure all digital interfaces are aligned with UoS branding, accessibility expectations, usability standards, and bilingual Arabic/English requirements.​
Main accountabilities & expectations
  • ​​Develop personas, user journeys, service blueprints, process flows, wireframes, storyboards, and interactive prototypes to support business and technical decisions.
  • Create modern, responsive, and accessible UI designs using Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or equivalent tools, ensuring alignment with UoS branding and digital experience standards.
  • Develop front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or equivalent technologies.
  • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, icons, posters and widgets.
  • Translate approved designs into reusable, maintainable, and production-ready front-end components.
  • Work with back-end developers and system owners to integrate interfaces with APIs, databases, authentication services, role-based access controls, workflows, and enterprise platforms.
  • Support back-end application flow understanding, including API consumption, JSON structures, validation rules, error handling, business logic, and data-driven interface behavior.
  • Conduct UI/UX quality assurance before release to verify usability, accessibility, responsiveness, browser compatibility, bilingual layout, branding, and design accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain reusable UI components, design patterns, templates, and standards as part of a UoS digital design system
  • Use analytics, user behavior data, heatmaps, service metrics, and feedback reports to identify improvement opportunities and guide evidence-based design decisions.
  • Support content design and bilingual Arabic/English user interfaces, including right-to-left and left-to-right layout considerations.
  • Continuously seeking opportunities to improve the user experience of our products, Stay updated on UX/UI, front-end, accessibility, and application development trends and recommend practical improvements for university digital services.​​
Required Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, responsive design, browser compatibility, and front-end performance optimization.
  • Practical experience with at least one modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, Vue, or equivalent.
  • Strong experience with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar design and prototyping platforms.
  • Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, API integration, authentication flows, and secure front-end/back-end communication.
  • Basic understanding of databases, application workflows, data validation, and role-based access control.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG and inclusive design principles.
  • Experience with bilingual Arabic/English interfaces, including RTL/LTR layouts and content readability.
  • Experience with content management systems, university portals, mobile-first services, or enterprise platforms is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and working within structured SDLC or Agile delivery environments.​

Desirable Requirements
  • ​Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Multimedia Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in UX \UI Design.
  • Demonstrated experience converting UX/UI designs into functional web or application interfaces.
  • Experience working with APIs, back-end services, authentication flows, databases, or enterprise application integrations.
  • Experience in higher education, government, enterprise applications, portals, mobile applications, or self-service platforms is preferred.
  • Strong UX/UI design portfolio demonstrating research, wireframes, prototypes, design systems, and implemented digital products is required.
