​The Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering (RISE) invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher specializing in Artificial Intelligence applications in Civil Engineering and Smart Infrastructure. The successful candidate will join the Sustainable Civil Infrastructure Systems (SCIS) Research Group, contributing to cutting-edge research at the intersection of digital technologies and resilient infrastructure systems.

We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with a doctoral degree in Civil Engineering and demonstrated expertise in the following areas:

1. Advanced modeling, analysis, and optimization of smart civil infrastructure systems.
2. Artificial Intelligence/machine learning applications in civil engineering.
3. Emerging digital technologies for smart infrastructure, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Digital Twins, Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Remote Sensing.
4. Data analytics, deep learning, and advanced statistical methods for large-scale infrastructure data processing and predictive modeling.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong research capabilities, interdisciplinary collaboration skills, and a commitment to advancing innovative, technology-driven solutions for sustainable and intelligent infrastructure systems.​

• Contributing in the projects to which he/she is assigned to while working closely with researchers from the SCIS Research Group. Possible contributions include:

1. Proposing novel ideas of research in line with the research group themes and in particular the projects to which the researcher is assigned.
2. Developing models and/or conducting experimental research tasks.
3. Gathering and Processing data related to the project in which the researcher is assigned.
4. Assisting researchers in tasks like coding and verifying research data, and maintaining research databases to keep track of data archiving and analysis.
5. Conducting literature reviews for the related topics.
6. Writing up and helping in editing research papers for journals, conferences and research proposals.

• Attending weekly research meetings involving, but not limited to, grant preparation, manuscript preparation, quality control issues, and protocol development or revision.

• Enhancing professional growth and development through case conferences, educational programs, in‐service meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars.
  

• Must have strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures and willing to work in a team environment.​

• ​Educational background in Civil Engineering or related area from a recognized institution.

• Excellent command of one or more of the relevant specialization areas.

• Working knowledge of data processing and data analysis.
  

• Knowledge of software related to the area of specialization (e.g., MATLAB, Python, machine learning, AI, and data analysis software).
  

• Knowledge of hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance related to the area of specialization.
  

• Knowledge of scientific research methodologies, including scientific paper writing and research proposal development.
