Job Purpose
|
To provide systems support and advice to all users at the college/department including students, academic and non-academic staff members. In addition to contributing in the selection and implementation of advanced systems that can help develop and improve the college/department’s processes.

|
Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Review and understand all relevant policies and procedures in order to be able to carry out daily work tasks as expected.

Design, develop, and implement efficient information management procedures and workflows. Leverage automation tools and techniques to streamline processes and improve data accuracy and accessibility. Customize solutions to meet the unique needs of the college/department while adhering to University standards and best practices.

Lead and actively participate in the planning, implementation, and integration of new and existing systems within the college/department. This includes project management, coordination with stakeholders, and ensuring successful system deployments.

Provide proactive and responsive support to academic and non-academic staff regarding the use of college/departmental systems. This includes identifying and evaluating potential system solutions based on user needs and departmental requirements, providing training and ongoing support to end-users, and ensuring the availability, reliability, and user-friendliness of all supported systems.

Conduct rigorous system analysis, design, development, and testing of new systems and modules. Ensure all aspects of the system development lifecycle are followed, including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, and post-implementation support.

Provide timely and effective technical support to college/department staff. This includes troubleshooting system issues and resolving user inquiries, and developing and maintaining comprehensive user documentation, including manuals, guides, and online help resources.

Oversee all system transactions and perform regular audits and checkups to ensure the accuracy of all related transactions in the system. As well as handle any required corrections and report any incidents.

Proactively maintain, manage, and update software systems and applications to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. Implement system enhancements and upgrades as needed to improve the user experience.

Manage and update the college/department’s page on the University’s Website. As well as respond promptly and professionally to inquiries and requests received through various communication channels.

Handle any software/system upgrades and updates to ensure that they are functional as well as provide users with the best services possible and enhance the system’s performance.

Keep up-to-date with new systems/software developments and advancements in the market in order to suggest suitable solutions and advancements at the university and serve users better.
- Prepare and generate various reports, lists, schedules, and statistics related to the college/department when requested by the line manager.

Required Skills
|
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.
- Excellent working knowledge of personal computer applications with an emphasis on MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Excellent working knowledge of programming and developing computer applications.
- Excellent programming language knowledge and ability to create, develop, and test code components.
- Excellent knowledge of related systems is a plus (e.g. SharePoint, Banner, Blackboard, etc.).
- Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and work efficiently under pressure.
- Advanced understanding of software development life-cycle.
- Advanced Project Management skills.
- Adherence to Data security and compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Desirable Requirements
|
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a relevant discipline.
- An internationally recognized professional qualification as a programmer or software developer (e.g. CPA, CLA, MTA, CSSLP, OCP, or OCM.) would add an advantage.
- Priority is to UAE Nationals.
