Job Purpose

The Brand Development Specialist leads the development and execution of strategic brand initiatives and integrated marketing campaigns, ensuring a strong, consistent, and distinctive institutional brand. The role leverages data-driven insights, creative execution, stakeholder collaboration, and vendor management to enhance the University’s reputation, strengthen market presence, and support its long-term strategic goals.​

Main accountabilities & expectations

Strategic Brand Management and Identity Governance

  • Support the development and continuous evolution of the University’s brand strategy in alignment with institutional objectives.
  • Ensure consistent application of brand identity, guidelines, visual standards, and tone of voice across all communication channels and touchpoints.
  • Maintain central brand assets, templates, guidelines, and digital resources, and provide brand guidance and best-practice support to internal teams.

Campaign Planning and Creative Execution

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver integrated marketing and promotional campaigns across digital, traditional, and offline channels.
  • Develop creative briefs, coordinate with internal creative teams and external agencies, and oversee the production of campaign materials.
  • Review and approve marketing and promotional content to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with institutional brand standards.

Events, Activations, and Sponsorships

  • Plan and execute corporate events, exhibitions, outreach initiatives, and brand activations that enhance institutional visibility and engagement.
  • Maximize the value of sponsorships and strategic partnerships to strengthen the University’s brand presence and audience reach.

Market Intelligence and Performance Optimization

  • Monitor market trends, competitor positioning, and emerging opportunities to inform brand and marketing strategies.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance using relevant quantitative and qualitative metrics.
  • Prepare post-campaign reports with insights, ROI analysis, and actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.

Agency, Vendor, and Budget Management

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with creative agencies, media partners, production suppliers, and external vendors.
  • Manage assigned marketing budgets, negotiate vendor terms, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Undertake other professional duties and departmental initiatives as assigned by the Line Manager.​

Required Skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills in translating ideas into compelling marketing copy and executive updates.
  • Excellent working knowledge of personal computer applications with an emphasis on MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Deep understanding of strategic brand positioning, identity frameworks, and brand governance.
  • End-to-end campaign architecture across print, digital, social media, and experiential touchpoints.
  • Capability to interpret market trends, benchmark competitors, and translate analytics into actionable strategies.
  • Ability to brief, direct, negotiate with, and evaluate third-party agencies and suppliers.
  • Sound management of project allocations, vendor invoicing, and campaign budgeting.
  • Skilled in consulting with diverse organizational stakeholders and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong capability in campaign ROI analysis and post-campaign reporting.
  • ​Exceptionally organized with the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines concurrently.
Desirable Requirements

  • ​Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Brand Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a relevant discipline.
  • Professional Certification (e.g., CIM, AMA, or specialized digital/brand strategy certificates) would add an advantage.
  • 6-8 years of UAE experience in brand management, integrated marketing, or corporate communications, preferably in higher education institutions.
  • Proven track record of managing end-to-end multi-channel marketing campaigns from conceptualization through post-campaign analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience managing external creative, media, and production agencies.
  • ​Priority is to UAE Nationals.
