Job Purpose

​​

  • The Research Institute for Medical and Health Sciences (RIMHS) is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and research-driven Postdoctoral Fellow in Immuno-Oncology to join the Immuno-Oncology Research Group.
  • This position is strategically designed to strengthen the institute's translational cancer research capacity and accelerate high-impact research outputs in tumor immunology, cancer microenvironment biology, and biomarker discovery. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing ongoing projects that integrate molecular biology, immunology, and pathology-based translational research, while supporting the expansion of collaborative, grant-funded research initiatives.
  • ​The postdoctoral fellow will play a central role in driving innovative experimental research, mentoring junior researchers, supporting laboratory development, and enhancing the group's international research visibility through high-quality publications and collaborative projects.


Main accountabilities & expectations

  • Design, execute, and optimize experimental research in immuno-oncology and tumor biology.
  • Lead laboratory-based translational projects investigating immune-tumor interactions, biomarkers, and therapeutic targets.
  • Contribute to hypothesis generation, study design, and data interpretation for ongoing and new research projects.
  • Prepare manuscripts for high-impact peer-reviewed journals and contribute to conference abstracts and presentations.
  • Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations and ensure compliance with research quality and biosafety standards.
  • Maintain experimental workflows, reagent management, and equipment usage.
  • Support development of standardized laboratory protocols and best research practices.
  • Assist in supervision and mentoring of graduate students and junior researchers.
  • Support grant proposal development and funding applications.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations within RIMHS and with external partners.
  • Coordinate research-related administrative tasks associated with the Immuno-Oncology Research Group.
  • Contribute to reporting, documentation, and research performance metrics.
  • Support the group's strategic goals in achieving international research excellence and visibility.


Required Skills
  • Strong proven experience in immunology, cancer biology, and molecular biology.
  • Hands-on expertise in advanced laboratory techniques, including:
  1. Cell culture and co-culture systems
  2. qRT-PCR and gene expression analysis
  3. Western blotting
  4. Flow cytometry
  5. Confocal microscopy
  6. ELISA and cytokine profiling
  7. In-vitro functional assays
  8. Immune cell isolation and functional assays
  9. Spatial multi-OMICs
  10. Proven ability to independently manage experiments and troubleshoot complex protocols.
  11. Clear evidence of research productivity.
  12. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  13. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  14. ​Strong organizational and leadership skills suitable for a dynamic research environment.​
Desirable Requirements

  • ​PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, or a closely related biomedical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in translational or laboratory-based cancer research.
  • ​Evidence of peer-reviewed scientific publications is strongly preferred.​
