Main accountabilities & expectations
|
1.Review and adhere to all relevant University of Sharjah policies, clinical protocols, and operational procedures to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient daily operations.
2.Verify patient identity, review exam requisitions, explain procedures to alleviate anxiety, assess contraindications, and safeguard patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
3.Perform high-quality digital X-ray procedures (chest, abdomen, extremities, spine, pelvis, and musculoskeletal using optimal exposure techniques while strictly minimizing radiation dose in accordance with the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principle.
4.Independently conduct diagnostic ultrasound examinations (abdominal, pelvic, renal, thyroid, soft tissue, and Doppler vascular) and immediately escalate urgent or critical abnormal findings to the attending physician.
5.Efficiently operate Digital X-ray workstations, Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to label, archive, and document all clinical imaging records accurately.
6.Execute strict radiation safety measures, utilize appropriate protective shielding, log exposure metrics, and ensure full compliance with the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), and the University regulatory frameworks.
7.Conduct daily equipment quality control checks, monitor inventory and consumables, coordinate preventive maintenance with Biomedical Engineering, and support accreditation audits (e.g., Joint Commission International or Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions).
8.Apply stringent equipment sanitization protocols and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards between patients to prevent cross-contamination.
9.Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless clinical workflow, resolve queries, and support patient care.
10.Generate and maintain required departmental logs, incident reports, and clinical imaging documentation promptly, ensuring alignment with institutional quality standards.
11.Carry out additional professional duties, departmental projects, or tasks assigned by the Line Manager, ensuring high-quality execution within specified timelines..

Desirable Requirements
|
▪Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Radiography, Medical Imaging Sciences, or a relevant discipline would add an advantage.
▪Post-graduate qualification, formal diploma, or certified competency in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonography would add an advantage.
▪Active, valid professional license (or official Eligibility Letter) as a Radiographer and/or Sonographer from MOHAP, DHA, or DOH (Department of Health Abu Dhabi).
▪2-4 years of UAE experience in a similar role, preferably in higher education institutions.
▪Priority is to UAE Nationals.
